Buch der Körper
Buch der Körper is the result of a collaboration with Louisa Kirchner and Belinda Ulrich at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design. The starting point was the following questions: Where are the limits of book design? At what point does a book become a work of art?
To explore these questions, the team chose excerpts from the poem Buch der Körper by the Slovenian writer Aleš Šteger as the content of the work. Buch der Körper is a study of the body as language and language as body.

The poem delves into themes of love, pain, confusion, and loneliness. To intensify the emotional resonance, the team adopted a zig-zag page folding technique, introducing a captivating spatial dimension. The exterior showcases a classic, sturdy book cover, contrasting with the delicate interiors.
The writing style features concise prose, often culminating abruptly, with En-dash and Em-dash employed to signal shifts in thought and bridge associative words. These dashes serve as a recurring motif on both the cover and throughout the book, offering both harmony and contrast when applied to folded pages.
For a warm and robust presentation, the team opted for the Antiqua serif font DTL Dorian. This font, with its minimal stroke contrast and extended ascenders and descenders, infuses the text with a warm and elegant appearance.
Use of sand-coloured linen on the cover reminiscent of skin tone. The print uses soft-structured, recycled paper. The book concludes with a black endpaper. Golden book screws hold the book together.
