The Lost Writings of James D. Morrison
Broken into three volumes, The Lost Writings is a collection of poems, notebook entries and recitals written by Jim Morrison over his lifetime. This project is an attempt to redesign his books that reflect the fragmentation of his thoughts and provide an insight into his inner conflicts that led to the creation of some of the most influential lyrics in music history.

In the quest to establish a design language for these volumes, the approach delves deep into Jim Morrison's multifaceted persona. Morrison, often remembered for his larger-than-life presence, desired to be recognised as a poet who fought for freedom.
The colour palette adopted for the books primarily revolves around the sombre tones of black, mirroring the profound undercurrents of his creations. Black and white marbling patterns grace the covers, with these intricate designs subtly woven between the pages.
This finely textured pattern symbolises the depth of Morrison's complex inner world and his acute attention to detail. The generous use of white space allows his poetry to unfurl gracefully.
To attain a timeless and classic appearance, the Studio chose Scotch Modern and Scotch Micro fonts. These fonts reflect Jim Morrison's personality, emphasising his sensitivity and strength.
